Kate Moss Gets Weird in Alexander McQueen's Serial Killer-Inspired Campaign

It's almost impossible to believe that in all the Kate Moss never had the chance to be the face of Alexander McQueen. The late British designer and the irreplaceable supermodels had been good friends, documenting their mutual affection long before Instagram, but despite their relationship, a campaign deal was never on the table – until now. The McQueen label, now led by creative director Sarah Burton, finally tapped Moss for Spring/Summer 2014, completely transforming her in the process. Gone are the familiar features, and instead the stills and accompanying video, shot by Steven Klein, deliver a story of Kate a mini Moss - wearing exactly the same outfit. Add to poisonous-yellow hair color to the mix, and you'll get a very surreal result.

Apparently, Klein derived his inspiration from the 1960s British thriller, Peeping Tom in which a serial killer murders women and uses a portable camera to record their dying expressions of terror. The video is eerie and disturbing as you may expect, and the stills – well, you just can't take your eyes off them. Powerful and gripping, they don't take away from the clothes but carry added value beyond the regular formula. Moss looks almost supernatural in her leather armors, reminding everyone she's still the queen of the hill. And the little couture-wearin doll? To die for (literally, according to the original plot). It was well worth the wait.
